Danisco publishes sustainability report

Danisco has released its ninth annual sustainability report at http://www.danisco.com/sustainability
The report, which marks a significant transformation of Danisco's sustainability strategy, highlights achievements in 2009 that include:
reductions in energy consumption by 21 per cent, water consumption by 30 per cent and carbon dioxide emissions by 15 per cent from 2007 levels
a decrease in lost time injury frequency by 28 per cent
the development of a Life Cycle Assessment competency and focus including ambitious targets
new 2020 targets for energy, water, carbon dioxide and renewable energy
commitments to the furthering of sustainable palm and soya sourcing.
The report, entitled Ingredients for Sustainability, has achieved an A+ Global Reporting Initiative application level and has been independently verified by Deloitte.
